Sex robots can be considered “super-normal stimuli” capable of offering sexual pleasure that exceeds what most human partners can provide.
Sex robots already populate robot brothels around the world. Upcoming versions are being equipped with eyesight and facial recognition, walking capabilities, and a full range of emotion. Soon they will read our emotion and learn to meet our emotional needs. It has been predicted that we will be marrying sex robots by 2050.
How will we maintain our human identity when robots become our “perfect” life partners?
It is in our best interest to familiarize ourselves with both the very real benefits of sex robots, as well as the risks they will inevitably present for us.
