We hereby invite you to submit a paper proposal for the symposium entitled “Thinking Erobotics: A Transdisciplinary Perspective on Sexual Robotics” . The latter will be held in Gatineau during the 87 th Congress of the Francophone Association for Knowledge (ACFAS) and will be held on 30-31 May 2019 at the Université du Québec en Outaouais.
In context :Prototypes of sex robots with artificial intelligence (AI) are now on the market. The early researchers who have addressed this reality are divided on the issue: some denounce their risks (eg, promoting harmful sexual norms), while others defend their positive potential (eg, medical and medical applications). therapeutic).
Scientific studies on the subject remain limited and speculative. This conference aims to address in a transdisciplinary way the issues, opportunities and consequences of new sexual technologies. In addition, he will launch a new research discipline, “erobotics”, to study, in a convergent and intersectoral way, the new immersive and interactive sexual technologies.
The objective: To pool complementary expertise to present the state of knowledge, to examine the ethical and social issues of erobotics, and to estimate the potential applications of emerging sexual technologies. Ultimately, this conference is a starting point for the formation of future collaborations and the development of a first French-speaking network of research in social robotics and artificial intelligence applied to sexuality.
